Serves: 6

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups Uncooked elbow macaroni pasta
6 ounces Claw or lump crab meat
3 tablespoons Unsalted butter (melted)
2 tablespoons All purpose flour
1 or 2 large Shallots (finely chopped)
1 1/2 cups Whole milk
3 ounces Grated Parmesan cheese
10 ounces Grated sharp cheddar cheese
Salt & pepper to taste
1/4 cup Panko breadcrumbs
2 or 3 tablespoons Grated Parmesan cheese

Step by Step Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 and lightly grease a casserole dish. Cook the macaroni as the packaging directs, then drain well.
  2. Melt the butter over medium-low heat and saute the chopped shallot until it starts to brown.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the shallot and mix well. Slowly pour in the milk while constantly and gently stirring. Keep stirring until the mixture thickens.
  4. Add the grated cheddar one handful at a time, stirring well between each addition. Once the mixture is smooth, season to taste with salt and pepper.
  5. Stir in the parmesan cheese, macaroni, and crab meat, then pour the mixture into the casserole dish.
  6. Mix the panko breadcrumbs, additional Parmesan cheese, melted butter, and salt to taste together. Spread the mixture evenly over the top of the pasta mix and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
